Challenge: Jor-El programmed the computer in the fortress with many contingencies. Everything possible, no matter how remote the chances. So what does he do when the fortress picks up reading of Wonder Woman? Why, he secretly runs scans of her when she visits the fortress of course. These scans show that she is the physical match for Superman, and from his surveilance he has learned that her powers are magically based. The one thing he doesn't understand. As a scientist, he is intrigued by the possibilities. Learning more about her by hacking into the Justice League's computers, Jor-El learns exactly which Gods blessed Diana and about the gifts she is given. And there is where he sees potential. Kal-El breeding with her and creating new Kryptonian beings who would not be specifically vulnerable to magic or Kryptonite. Whether his resons are dark or benign is up to you. But he conspires to get the two of them together. What would Jor-El's comptuer self do with the technology of Krypton available to him? Will he be a driving force to expose problems in a relationship between Kal-El and Lois? Most likely a humor fic, but if you can make it serious feel free.
Note: In this fic humans and Kryptonians cannot inter-breed normally, but being blessed by Aphrodite, Diana is uniquely able to breed with any species as one of her gifts is magically enhanced fertility. ~ jwjii020987
Challenge: Kal-El is the Last Son of Krypton. The only remaining female Kryptonian(s) being Supergirl (and PowerGirl if you like). Rao was content to let his children die out. They dissappointed him, after all. But Superman is different. He lives up to what Rao hoped for his children. Not to mention that the House of El is decended from Rao himself. Like the Greek gods, Rao once walked among his people and inter-bred. It is this spark of divinity in Kal-El (however slight) that resurrects him from death when sent to a yellow sun. It also is what makes him strong enough to overpower three battle-trained Kryptonians (Zod & co.) when he himself was simply powerful but without actual battle skill.
Rao has been watching his last son (literally) for a while. But now there is a problem and Rao may have to come to Earth. Kal-El and Diana are becoming close. (Not in a relationship yet, but both are secretly considering the possibility, although they do not realize that they BOTH are thinking about it.) The Greek gods are both fearful and pridful of this union because of the power such a child may have. Some fear being usurped, but some hope that a child of Diana would worship them and if so, when it dies, they could claim it's soul. Rao will not allow any soul of his to go to another God. Nor will he let them interfere in his child's chance for happiness.
What will happen when an alien god comes to Earth. Such an act would cause ALL the gods of Earth to intervene. Will things work out peacefully? Will they form a temporary alliance to defeat Rao and keep him out of their territory? And how will this affect the growing relationship between Kal-El and Wonder Woman? What happens if the gods call upon their champion Diana to help in the fight against Rao? What will Batman and the rest of the league do when they discover that earth is in danger of becoming a battleground of the gods because of Diana and Clark?
Note: Rao is extremely powerful for a god. He is as far above normal gods as Superman is above normal humans. ~ jwjii020987
Challenge: In an effort to utterly destroy the Justice League, the Crime Syndicate devises
a plan like no other: Destroy from within. By replacing Superman, the member of
the team that embodies their inspiration, with one of their own, they can
gradually tarnish the team's image and purpose. While on an off world mission,
Superman is taken prisoner, and when word reaches the rest of the JL, they send
in a rescue team headed by Diana herself, his wife of a few months. In the
meantime, Owlman reminds Ultraman that resembling Superman is one thing, but
dealing with a situation the way Superman would is another. In essence, he
cannot only act like Superman, he must become Superman. Once the JLers reach
their destination, they make quick work of the "captors" and release a rather
weakened Superman apparently exposed to a massive dose of Kryptonite and mental
restructuring. Once back on earth, everything seems to be returning to normal.
However after a few months, the members, particularly Batman and WonderWoman,
start realizing that there is something different about "Superman." Diana
initially dismisses it as having to do with his imprisonment and the
brainwashing that they attempted to do to him, but, as time passes, she feels
that it might be something else. Bruce, ever the detective, starts putting the
pieces of the puzzle together from the "capture" to his "release" and now his
"behavioral change." Unfortunately, with J'onn now away on a mission with
Hawkgirl, Diana and Bruce have nothing else to go with except their instincts
and a sheer determination to get to the truth. Meanwhile, the real Superman
is left in an alternate earth courtesy of Owlman. This earth is taken over by an
alien dictator named Mongul whose sole pleasure is gladiatorial matches.
Superman faces a dilemma, find a way home or help the enslaved populace. He
chooses the latter because after all, he is Superman. How does the JL end up
determining that this "Superman" is not Superman? How does the real Superman
save the alternate earth and make it back home? How is Kal and Diana's
relationship affected when she tells him that, prior to discovering the truth,
she lived with the imposter as "husband and wife?" ~ Robenson2009
Challenge: Hercules attacks the Amazons with his men, and his goal this time is Wonder Woman. Diana has not yet been to the outside world, but she has already claimed the title of Wonder Woman. The JL do not know about Themyscira, but they receive a distress call from Athena or any other god to help the Amazons and so the 6 original founding members go to help. Superman is not with Lois because of a falling out them. Hercules is winning against WW and the Amazons are struggling against the number of men. Hercules took out Hippolyta fast and is about to taint the beaten Wonder Woman as her fellow women look on in horror, but in comes Big Blue, enraged that such a thing is happening. While the rest of the JL clean up the fodder, Supes unleashes hell on Hercules and brutalizes him to near death and punts him across the ocean. Needless to say Hercules won't come back, so from there evolve the SM/WW romance and how the Amazons would react to the 90% male JL besides Hawkgirl. ~SilverMessiah310
Challenge: Krypton was never destroyed and Kal-el is living he's own life on his planet, and engaged to the fair Lyla Lerrol. But not all is at peace on Krypton since Zod is brewing an uprising against the Kryptionian government. Even though Superman never was on earth the Justice League was still formed and help fight the forces of evil whether on earth or a world light years away. When the league sends some members(take your pick) ,Diana included of course, on space mission to a planet in need of their help; they run into trouble on their way back to Earth. Trying to evade the pursuing ship the Javelin recieves damage and plummets into a planets atmosphere. The planet is none other than Krypton. The league crash into the Scarlet Jungle, but not before Kal-el catches a glimpse of the as it makes its descent, while talking with his father, Jor-el. How will it all play out? And what will Kal-el do when he starts having feelings for the Amazon Princess when he is promised to another? ~Anon
Challenge: This challenge was brought on by 'DC Universe Online' game. If you've watched the trailer, it is the scream of Wonder Woman that calls Superman back to earth. Even Lex Luthor seems to know this. What if instead of Lex going back in time to warn the Big Three, a severely wounded teenage girl travels back instead. This girl would of course be the daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman. What if the daughter of SM/WW crashed into the JLU conference table in a flash of light? Both Batman and Diana says that she looks familiar. When she awakens she has no idea where she is and starts to panic until she hears the voice of her mother. After calming down she has a warning about the return of Brainiac after the war with Luthor. It would certainly get everyone’s attention. During one of the scenes Wills character is asking a bunch of questions to a holo projector that looks like a crystal ashtray, with the hologram of the professor projected above it. What if Kal-El and Diana had given their daughter such a device when she was very young so that she would always remember them should something happen to them. Of course they didn't tell her that at the time. What would be the reactions of Kal and Diana be when they learn of this device after Diana finds it in a hidden pocket in the jacket and manages to activate it? This might be one way for her parentage to be proven, at least to Kal and Diana. ~ Danyael Prince
Challenge:
How come no one has kidnapped Superman and Wonder Woman with the view
to taking their dna and creating a child? If you were a villain
wouldn't you do the obvious? ~ Hellacre13
Challenge:
What if the Preserver had kidnapped Superman and Wonder Woman to add
them to their intergalactic zoo. What could happen there? Imagine Clark
and Diana's embarrassment and astonishment found out the alien's
intention was not only to have them in his exotic menagerie but to get
them to procreate to naturally create new prized species.
Kryptonian/Amazon. Of course Clark and Diana would never willingly
mate, would they? Especially since Clark is with Lois and Diana is with
Bruce. But the Preserver is very experienced zoo keeper and getting
subjects to cooperate and he is very clinical in the way he runs his
operation. Clark and Diana to him would be no different to say breeding
thoroughbred horses as he deals with may different species. Maybe he
uses chemicals and pheromones that get the subjects lusting for each
other.;) Would Superman and Wonder Woman resist? What happens when they
escape and go back home? ~ Hellacre13
Challenge:
For whatever reason Clark doesn't become Superman until later in his
life or becomes Superman when the Justice League already exists. He
isn't one of its original members. You could even give him a slightly
different start where he acts more like a vigilante like the way he has
been acting in Smallville this last year or so. Anway this new hero
attracts the attention of the Justice League who decide to investigate
him more thoroughly. A Clark Kent/Diana Prince, Mr & Mrs Smith type
scenario could still be an added extra. ~ Ben10987654321
Challenge:
Instead of leaving Smallville, Clark married Lana and stayed there and
never became Superman. Now recently divorced/widowed Clark Kent arrives
in Metropolis to start his life over. He meets/starts dating a certain
Diana Prince. When he finds out who she really is, will this inspire
him to finally use his powers for the greater good and become the hero
he is meant to be? ~ Ben10987654321 and SuperCharles
Challenge:
Thor has become enamored with Wonder-Woman and decides to make his move
by joining the Justice League. Even though Diana and Kal are lovers,
the latter is not too happy as she once confided in him that in the
early years after learning of the pantheon of the Norse gods, Thor has
always been the one she would be willing to lose herself to. Since
Superman always feels that he is truly a farm boy from Kansas, the idea
of the god of thunder having his eye on Diana and her early confession
is intimidating to him; especially since the god insists on teaching
Diana some of his fighting techniques which she accepts. Once she
notices Superman's behavior, how will Wonder-Woman reassure Superman
that he is the only one for her? How will she let Thor know that he is
not? - Robenson
Challenge: Heracles is infuriated at the fact that the gods keep on comparing his strength to this Kryptonian and he wants to prove to them once and for all that he is the strongest. Since Superman's slow to anger attitude is legendary amongst the gods, Heracles kidnaps Diana, his pregnant wife, in order to enrage him. Superman and the rest of the Justice League try their best to find their comrade to no avail. Hypolyta consults her gods and finds out who the perpetrator is and notifies Superman. Heracles sends words of a challenge to Superman which he readily accepts; the challenge is simple, test their mettle in raw power only, until one of them remains standing. As the Justice League remains behind at Superman's request, they cannot help but wonder if their friend's strength will be enough to defeat Heracles himself; Batman reassures them that an angry Superman is an unstoppable Superman. – Robenson
Challenge:
This one would be a total reworking of the Smallville universe. During
Kal-El's approach of the planet earth, the Goddess Hera changes his
trajectory and makes him crash land on Themyscira. Hera instructs
Hippolyta to raise and teach him as one of her own, and to expose him
to his Kryptonian heratige (Hera will teach Hippolyta how to activate
the ship and the information stored in it) alongside her daughter
Diana. (Kal-El would be maybe 2 or 3, and Diana is 1). Kal-El (by the
way, they won't name him. he will only be known as Kal-El.) will learn
Amazon fighting styles, literature, philosophy, the whole shebang,
alongside his Kryptonian philosophy, culture etc. Beacause of Kal-El's
presence, instead of teaching Diana that all men are traitors, she will
teach both Diana and Kal-El not to trust anyone other then their Amazon
sisters and each other (By the way, this is a Kal-El/Diana romatic
relationship story.) Kal-El will grow up somewhat isolated because all
of the amazons (except for a select few) would be distrustful and
afraid of Kal-El due to his powers and the fact he is male and an
alien. ~ the0espada
Challenge: Clark and Diana are finally together as husband and wife, and they couldn't be any happier. But when Clark takes on an assignment for a deep-space mission with two other fellow leaguers and ends up MIA, or presumed dead, Diana is determined to take on a search and rescue mission to find the man she loves. How long will it take her to find him? Weeks? Months? Years? What if Clark sired a child before he left? What happened to Clark and the other two leaguers? Does he end up in an environment with no yellow sun? The possiblilities are endless. If you take up this challenge have as much fun with it as possible with it. ~ PureSummerMagic22
Challenge: What would happen if Kratos, the vengeful new God from the God of War game, ended up in the JLU universe after the trilogy ended? What would happen if, after his destruction of Olympus, he went to continue his rampage on Themyscira, after learning that what was left of the Greek Gods sought sanctuary there, and had to take on Superman and Wonder Woman? ~ Seh507
Challenge: Lois breaks up with Clark because of obvious reasons heavily involving Diana. So, she then writes a 'dear John' (they call it that, right?) letter to him. It can be written as a Lois drabble or anything you can come up with, heavy with either drama or humour - whatever you like. - Mami02
Challenge: Superman or Wonder
Woman or both find that they are caught in a time-loop where the same
day repeats itself over and over. Will the knowledge that their actions
have no consequences since time will reset lead even these two to give
in to their temptations especially where it concerns each other?
Consider this a challange to be met for Groundhog day. - Ben10987654321
Challenge: With
Superman/Batman Public Enemies coming out on DVD a random thought
entered my head. What if we had Superman/Wonder Woman Public Enemies
fic and in between hiding and fighting off virtually every villain and
hero in the DC universe their close bond gets closer ie steps over that
friendship boundary into something more. - Ben10987654321
Challenge: Wonder Woman's the established hero dating Steve Trevor, Kal-El is a grownup newly landed refugee from the resently destroyed Krypton taken in by the Kents, Lois is Editor in Chief of the daily planet married to an older Jimmy Olsen. What guild would Kal-El be in since that would determine is outlook on life since he wouldn't have been raised by the Kents? Would the Government be hunting him? -Fenris_Shadesekker
Challenge: Do you know the series "Lois and Clark - the New Adventures of Superman"? If not, you need to get this bit of background information. In one episode, Clark's superpowers are transferred to Lois, and she dons a suit and a cape and starts superheroing as Ultrawoman. Now imagine this: Lois gets a copy of Clark's powers (meaning Clark still has his powers!), and she becomes Ultrawoman. After a short while, she will be asked to join the JLA, and she gets to see quite a lot of Diana...As you can imagine, Lois will not treat her competition (for Superman's attention) nicely. So, what will she do to Diana? How will Diana react? And what about Superman, not to mention the other Leaguers? The possibilities are endless, and since this can be written in short, humorous episodes, this particular challenge is perfect for a future Round Robin. (At least that's my humble opinion.) - Mellie
Challenge: In the WW comics, there was a time when several Greek Gods, among them Zeus and Hermes, lusted after Diana. So, what if it weren't only these two, but other Gods (Roman, Egyptian, Nordic...) as well? And the situation does not resolve itself... So, Diana gets attacked by amorous deities on a regular basis, and she asks the Amazon oracle for help. This way, Diana learns that she has to make a choice, and soon... Will Clark be willing to help her out? (Pretty please?) - Mellie
Challenge: The Amazons are still in reclusion, and Diana is as happy as she can be. But then, a very handsome and badly injured stranger - a man! - is washed ashore. Now, the Amazons tend to his wounds, and the dark-haired man makes a full recovery. A full recovery? Well, not quite. He does not recover his memory. But, since the Amazons have no way of getting rid of him, he has to live among them. Tension sparks, for there is a *man* on the island, and several Amazons are intent on getting to know him (intimately). All too soon, the man starts to show unusual gifts, like extraordinary strength, speed and stamina, the ability to fly, very acute senses, which makes him the equal of a certain princess. - Mellie
Challenge: Somehow,
Clark managed to get both Lois and Diana pregnant... This may have
happened due to an affair or because of some weird effect of
red kryptonite (or whatever you can come up with), but that's not the
point. How is Clark going to resolve that situation? How will Lois
and Diana deal with it? What will Clark's friends and, most
importantly, his parents, say? - Mellie
Challenge: In
the story 'For the Man who has Everything' Mongul sends Superman
into a fantasy of what his heart truly desires using the Black Mercy
plant. In that story he ends up back on Krypton living out the life he
would have had if Krypton had never exploded ie married with a family.
However what if his fantasy is of him living on Earth and married to
Diana. How would he react to that revelation once he escapes back to
reality? Or perhaps if you want to make it really troubling for him he
has this fantasy despite the fact he is married to Lois. -Ben10987654321
Challenge: This is basically a 'how Superman met Wonder Woman' fic. It takes place during Superman's solo career where he saves the planet from destruction, only in this case it involves stopping an asteroid from hitting Earth. Simple right? Wrong! The asteroid is filled with Kryptonite and while Superman is able to slow it down, the effects from his only weakness are slowly killing him. While Superman is saving the world from this giant rock, Lex Luthor has his satellites scanning the whole thing. They tell him the asteroid has lots of Krytonite in it. Seeing his chance Luthor has one of his military contacts fire a missile at it under the explanation of a "computer malfunction". The missile hits causing the rock to be destroyed, but the debris showers Superman with Krytonite rays knocking him back to Earth where he hits water, and he floats onto the shores of Themiscrya where he is found by one startled yet intrigued Diana. How will things turn out when the Amazon Women are stuck with a man in their midst and Diana seems to find him quite attractive? -VF Snake
Challenge: During
the S:TAS episode "Brave New Metropolis" it is suggested that
Clark would become evil if Lois dies. Pick up where the episode left
off, and write about Diana coming to Patriarch's world, and then
mending Kal's wounded heart and soul, redeeming him, and helping him
become a hero again, a la Kingdom Come. -Measure of a Lady
Challenge: What
if Diana or Clark got intoxicated, and became so wasted that he/she
can't even stand up straight, and the other one has to get them home.
Imagine the thing that might be said(or worse, done). It's the perfect
setting for some chaos and mayhem of the superhuman kind. Will
confessions be made? Will someone be bold and make a move? Will Clark
finally grow a spine? So many questions that need your answers. I
highly doubt that Diana's immune to alcohol, so I guess she could get
drunk, but for Clark, there's always Smallville style red kryptonite.
-Cael-El595
Challenge: After
Superboy and Wonder Girl's toss in the hay during the Teen Titans
Annual, what if Cassie were to discover she was pregnant with
Superboy's child? How would Superman and Wonder Woman handle the
situation if they had to help her? How would Lois react? What if
it is discovered, thanks to Cassie's pregnancy, that kryptonians are
not compatible with humans unless they are magical creatures?
-pendragon_ryu
Challenge:
What if, in his spare time, Clark was a D&D player and during one
of Mxyzptkl's visits he sends the JLA (any version) into a
world of fantasy in which the JLA become the characters of a D&D
game? -pendragon_ryu
Superman= Paladin
Batman=Rogue
Diana=Cleric or Paladin
Zatana=Sorceres
Flash=Bard
GL=Ranger
Challenge:
Dru-Zod (Chris Kent) lands in the DCAU, and Clark and Diana have
to take care of him. Sparks fly between Diana and Lois, and they have
to deal with the effect on his relationship with Lois, as well as
handle the three Kryptonian arch-criminals (or any other villain that
you deem more suitable or less cliched), and end up getting closer.
-Sword of Rao
Challenge: Inspired
by the movie Eraser, and by the S:TAS episode "Late Mr. Kent". Clark is
a witness to something very sinister involving someone very
cunning and dangerous (Luthor, Joker, anybody you can think of- take
your pick), and after an attempt on his life (Clark's not Superman's),
he decides to forego the Kent identity and go undercover with a new ID.
Bruce decides on a playboy persona like his own, and even schools him
on it, and Special Agent Diana Prince is assigned to protect him under
the Witness Protection Program. -Sword of Rao
Challenge: The
son from "the Kingdom" or "Distant Fires" or the daughter from DK2
lands up on the mainstream Earth, and mayhem ensues. Clark and Diana
have to handle the situation, and come to terms with the revelation.
-Sword of Rao
Challenge: In
honour of the numerous holidays being celebrated this season, including
the Winter Solstice(s), Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Yule, St Nicholas
Day, Bodhi Day, Santa Lucia, Boxing Day, New Year's, etc., write a fic
that depicts Superman and Wonder Woman during this time. You do not
have to include every holiday, but what are they doing during this
season? Are they together? Are they apart? Are they sharing the various
holidays together? Other than that, I will not put much constraint on
this challenge. Write wherever the Muse takes you. -WonderCat
Challenge: What
if when Thor was sending SM and WW back to earth Loki interfears with
the spell sending them into another Dimension (Norrath? The Forgotten
realms?) and they have to find a way back. -Fenris_Shadesekker
Challenge: As
you may know the Red K on the TV show Smallville when used on Clark
strips him of his inhibitions. On one of the resent episodes he crashed
Lex and Lana's engagement Party and basically told everyone all the
stuff he had been bottling up inside himself over the course of the
season in the nastiest way possible after being exposed to the RK in
Lois's Lipstick (Long story). It was awesome! One has to wonder how
would The Superman in the Comics act toward some of his fellow leaguers
(especially Wonder Woman, X-ray vision FTW) if he exposed to some SV
type RK? Hell Immortal Beloved would have been a whole different story.
-Fenris_Shadesekker
Challenge: In
JLA#0, we are shown an alternate reality in which Wonder Woman tells
Kal and Bruce that she is getting married. They try to talk her out of
it. Why do they want to talk her out of it? Who is she marrying? Do
they succeed in talking her out of it? Does Kal get the woman of his
dreams or does she go to someone else? -WonderCat
Challenge:
For those of you who have read, or have not read, the very brief scenes
here and there of the "official" meeting of SM and WW , this challenge
is for you. Basically, write about SM's (or WW's) thoughts about their
brief meetings and the time before (and/or after) their "first" date.
We've got, "what will happen after Lois is gone" and "how they feel
with Lois in the way." So what about before? Was it love at first sight
or did they build to it with each brief little meeting they had?
-WonderCat
Challenge: In
reference to Wonder Woman (second series) #226: How would you have
wanted a last issue to go? Especially (but not limited to) one that
featured Supes so heavily? -Djinn
