Welcome to the Archive!

This is a fansite that is dedicated to all fan fiction and fan art, as well as the published comic book issues, images, and artistry from the comic books and artists, and other miscellaneous items and topics that support why these two superheroes belong together. We only hope to bring fans of the Superman and Wonder Woman pairing together where they can feel comfortable visiting the Archive, and not feel like they are the only ones who wish to see this couple together.

1/1/12
First of all, allow us to say a huge thank you to those who took the time in this very busy holiday season to enter the contest. We know real life kicks butt and time is a precious commodity.

The contest was open to art and literature and the topic : our couple asking each other out on a date. :date:

As all contests generally are, seeing the submissions :reading: has been a lot of fun and when the time came to judge, we (hellacre13, wondercat and arcadiasw) did have a bit of a tough time. We wish we could reward everyone for their efforts. But we had to come to an agreement on two main winners for the prizes from MyTeeSpot.com (huge thanks to them) and, thanks to arcadiasw, two other people will get runner-up prizes.

The criteria for writing was not only imagination and plot, but the way the story was paced, the construction, grammar, spelling, etc. We had 4 stories, by TLK, amazonia v, unoaranya30 and Janus3003. It was tough narrowing it down to two. Everyone did an awesome job on characterization of Clark and Diana. They felt like our heroes. The dynamic between them felt very authentic. There was a lot of chemistry in all 4 stories. But the things that made our choices stand out were pacing, plot, and the construction of the story. So without further ado...

The winner of the writing is...Janus3003 with Inappropriately Timed Conversations. This won because it was humorous, there was so much easy chemistry between Superman and Wonder Woman and the pacing was almost effortless. It flowed and was very easy to read and it felt complete even as a one shot. There was a definite new DCU JL vibe in it we appreciated. We could easily imagine this on a comic or cartoon.

The runner up is unoaranya30 with Taking The Plunge. There was such an innocence with this story. We adored reading the younger versions of Clark and Diana which was unique in this instance as everyone else did them as adults. There was humor and yet such lessons to be learned. We think young Clark could teach older Clark in comics a thing or two about girls and how to be brave.

Now to ART.

This was very tough as well. The criteria was not only seeing how artists approached the subject re imagination and creativity, but the way art was executed...coloring,lines, finishing, etc. We know styles vary and are very individual and we appreciated that. Fact we love that. We had 5 entries: Meejay7, NinjaSleepWalker, mincontroller99,nailsin and moBabar.

The winner of the art is...nailsin with Courtship of Wonder Woman. This was well rounded and executed. Comic strips are always challenging and hats off to anyone who do them because you have to deal with writing too. The layout and sequencing were very good, and the dialogue humorous. Diana acting all cool Amazon was a brilliant touch and when she squealed like an excited girl with Canary made us all laugh.

The runner up is Meejay7 with Asking Diana Out. Beautiful art. There is such natural chemistry and sex appeal in this piece. We loved she went with them as Clark and Princess Diana and it almost looked as if he was asking her for a date after they put their feelings out there for each other. Clark looks confident and Diana looks happy. They are already in love.

Our congratulations to our winners!

To the others, we really want to thank you for your efforts and hope you will continue to enter future contests.

And the Costume Goes to...

The contest has ended and we have a winner! On May 30, 2011, the Archive announced a costume giveaway, sponsored by BuySuperHeroCostumes.com. In order to win this costume giveaway of either a Superman or Wonder Woman costume, contestants had to submit a new Fan Art piece into the Archive's Deviant Art Page. Check out the artwork at the Archive's Deviant Art Page to view the submitted art pieces.

The judges (ImFanci, WonderCat, Hellacre, and Arcadia) had deliberated long and hard as this was a tough one. We were not only looking at how the theme was used and applied but technique and execution. Americana is a very broad theme and we were eagerly looking forward to see how original artists would be. We wish we could give everyone a prize for time and effort and all pieces were so good but there must be one winner...

Cracking The Liberty Bell by FairyKitsch :winner:

Congratulations, FairyKitsch! This piece won out not only because the artwork is so adorable but the idea behind it was creative and humorous while maintaining the theme. Taking history and applying it to the Superman and Wonder Woman couple. ie Clark shows off for Diana (like most guys do) and breaks the Liberty Bell and who but a Superman to crack something like that? So we finally found out how it broke!:D

2nd Prize goes to Buy Bonds by villianovitch

Well done, villianovitch. We loved the fact you homage comic and American history. Comics were often used to advertize bonds to help with the war effort and the WW II setting is quite patriotic and celebrates the Golden Age.

3rd Prize goes to Retro Americana by MoBabar

Nice work,MoBabar. It's a warm and lovely piece, bringing back memories of the 50ties, classic cars and diners and it shows the couple doing something fun. Heck, we can hear the Doo-Wop music from here.

We want to thank the other participants: Nailsin, Mindcontroller99, !draven222, Mami02, Wolfman1967, CardiacMIst, Rudecherub, Meejay7, and Unoaranya30. Thank you all for making this an enjoyable contest. It could not have been done without you.

We thank BuySuperHeroCostumes.com for their sponsorship of the 1st prize, and WonderCat for the 2nd and 3rd.

We hope to have more contests in the future so keep your eyes opened for them!
