No. 8 Synopsis: Superman is not featured, but Julia tells us of Diana's reaction when asked about her thoughts on Superman after meeting the Justice League. Diana was forthcoming on her impression of the other League members but she would not comment on Superman. Julia found it interesting.
No.15 Synopsis: Diana is leisurely riding a horse. A sudden mass of clouds form in front of her, and someone is calling to her. A hand emerges from the clouds and reaches out for her. The clouds clear to reveal Superman hovering above. Diana accepts Superman's hand, and they embrace. As they kiss, Diana awakens from a dream. Apparently, this is not the first time she has dreamt of him, and she confesses that her dreams are becoming more vivid each time. Since coming back to Boston from Themyscira, Diana has been living with Julia and Vanessa. And because Julia is away in Greece, Diana does not know who to confide to regarding the overwhelming feelings of attraction she is not familiar with. So, Diana ventures out through the gardens to pray to the gods and seek advice. She is interrupted by Vanessa, who teases her about praying again in the nude. The rest of the storyline involves the Silver Swan.
No. 16 Synopsis: After battling and defeating the Silver Swan, Diana is back in Julia's house and prompts Vanessa to get ready for school. As Diana enters Vanessa's room, she is focused on the new poster of Superman that Vanessa just put up. Vanessa, already jealous and insecure about losing her boyfriend to Diana, brightens up when Diana confesses that she has feelings for Superman. Vanessa urges Diana to contact Myndi Mayer, Diana's publicist, to get in contact with Superman. At Myndi's office, Diana is put on the phone with Superman to arrange their date. Diana is thrilled as she speaks to him, and later flies off happily and she is looking forward to their date.

No. 140 - 141 (January-February 1999) Synopsis: "Trinity" With the help of Obsidian, Diana’s compact Wonder Dome takes on a life of its own. After “absorbing” Diana, the Wonder Dome expands across Gateway City, causing destruction along the way. While within the Wonder Dome, Diana is kept in a state of deep sleep in which her dreams are vividly real. In her first dream, Diana has completed her mission of bringing peace to Man’s World. The people of the world are happy, and after centuries of helping and teaching others, Diana finally decides to let herself sleep the Sleep of Eternity. However, as she falls into that sleep, she realizes that she has not led as full a life as she believed—she had never allowed herself to know the love of a man. Meanwhile, the League is called in to handle damage control while Superman and Batman enter the Wonder Dome to rescue Diana. After finding and freeing Diana, the Trinity is absorbed into the Dome’s dream world again. Their dreams are connected and they each live in the same fantasy world. In this dream, Diana and Kal fall in love and prepare for the birth of their first child. Batman realizes the dream is not real, and together the Trinity awaken and free themselves from the Wonder Dome.
No. 142 (March 1999) Synopsis: While Diana is giving a tour of the new Wonder Dome, she passes the "Garden of Dreams" which is a reflection of her subconscious. One of the images seen within the Garden is of her kissing Superman.

No. 170 (July 2001) Synopsis: "A Day in the Life" Lois is given an exclusive opportunity to follow Diana for a day and report on the daily life of the Amazon Princess. After a day of watching Diana helping others, diplomatically addressing the United Nations, tending to sick and dying children, they stopped for dinner. During a game of pool, Lois confronted Diana on her feelings towards Clark. Diana admitted to Lois that she wished Clark and herself were more than best friends. Even though Diana and Lois were not friends, Diana would not betray Lois by stealing her husband, and that Clark's bond to Lois was unbreakable. Diana mentioned Clark's faithfulness during the thousand years they spent together in Asgard (Superman #761), which took Lois by surprise since Clark never informed her of the incident. By the end of the interview in the early morning hours, Lois invited Diana home where Clark would make the three of them breakfast.
No. 171 (August 2001)
No. 172 (September 2001) Synopsis: "Our Worlds At War" tie-in. During one of the battles against the Imperiex Probes, a Wonder Woman is mortally wounded. Superman hears her scream and believes her to be Diana. Despite also hearing Lois plead with him to save her father, he rushes to Wonder Woman's side only to discover that it is not Diana, but Hippolyta. He tries to comfort Diana, but she pushes him away in her grief.
No 173 (October 2001) The tie-in to "Our Worlds At War". Post Hippolyta's death. After much death and destruction, there is a desperate bid by our heroes to push Imperiex and Brainiac-13 on Warworld 14 billion years back to the time of the Big Bang. This takes the combined efforts of Superman, Wonder Woman, Darkseid, Lex Luthor, Steel, Tempest, the Amazons, the Martian Manhunter, and others to vanquish both villains.
No 174 (November 2001) Circe transforms the male heroes of the JLA, JSA, Titans, and Young Justice into beasts for super-villains to hunt down and kill. Wonder Woman assembles a team of the worlds' greatest heroines to save the heroes. But Circe deliberately goes after the strongest hero and the one Diana cares for the most: Superman.
No 175 (December 2001) Joker's Last Laugh tie-in. Circe forces super-heroes to fight super-villainesses. She also magically transforms Superman into a Doomsday-like creature, using his pain and anger from the events of the recent war with Imperiex to attack Wonder Woman. The battle takes place in the heart of New York's Time Square and Diana struggles to get Kal to snap out of the spell. Eventually she makes Superman see, via the magic lasso, the truth. She tells him what he means to the world and to her as a hero, a man, and her best friend.
Worlds Finest Our Worlds at War #1 (October 2001) Superman arrives at the Batcave to ask Batman to attend the many funerals and memorials of the fallen. Batman refuses. He tells Superman he has his own priorities (still having to search for the Young Justice members who are still missing post the war). As they argue, Wonder Woman teleports in, and reminds them that people mourn in their own way and they need to respect that in each other. Superman and Wonder Woman leave to join the JLA to remember Aquaman who is still missing in action; they go to the JSA headquarters for the memorial for Hippolyta and then go to pay their respects to Maxima who also fell in the war. Later in the day they arrive in Smallville to pay their respects to Sharon Vance, Strange Visitor, and meet her angry boyfriend, the only person who showed up. He accuses both Kal and Diana of not knowing how he felt, unaware both suffered losses themselves. He storms off leaving Superman to wonder if there is any hope left to hold on to. Wonder Woman tells Superman that he has done enough and to go to Lois. Superman recalls he has to attend Sam Lane's funeral at sunset and he wonders to himself how could he have forgotten. He leaves Wonder Woman asking if she will be okay and she insists she will be fine.
