A JLU Story by Ronnie K (because JLU cartoons really ticked me off!)
Okay, I've been watching too many JLU cartoons and got tired of seeing Superman get smacked around by any two-bit villain that was around in that episode. It's rather disgusting. So, I took a snippet of when Supes was kicking Darkseid's butt and changed it slightly. This isn't really an SM/WW fanfic per se, though of course, they are both in it.
Besides, it includes arguably the best speech that Supes ever made (in print or in animation). I took the liberty of lifting that speech verbatim, btw. LOL

The Batman was thrown from Darkseid like a rag doll. He was ready for it, but still landed on his back twenty feet away. Batman didn't really think he could take on a being of Darkseid's power, but he could give his friend Clark a moment to collect himself.
Darkseid, posing his huge form as if for a fitness magazine, began yet another of his tedious dialogs. Why can't super villains do their business without the macho (or cheesy) speeches?
"It's time to take off the kid gloves, Clark", Batman thought to himself.
Suddenly, above him loomed the imposing figure of Wonder Woman, offering her hand. He took it and got up from the ground.
"How can we help him?" she asked, both of them still watching Darkseid advance on Superman again. Instead of answering her, he kept an eye on Superman's expression.
Batman saw the new resolution in his friend's eye. They could hear him talking to Darkseid. "That man won't quit as long as he can draw a breath. None of my teammates will. Me? I've got a different problem."
"Did you ever get Superman to just stop holding himself back in those little training sessions of yours, Diana?"
She gave a disgusted sigh. "No! I ask and ask, yet he refuses." She looked eager to join the fight, but Batman's hand was on her arm asking her to hold off. He didn't see a need to intervene, at least, for the moment.
"Have you ever seen him cut loose? No restraints? I haven't."
"A couple of times I thought I did, but no, I'm not sure. Do you think---?" She turned to watch the battle with renewed interest.
“Well, Princess, I think we're about to witness why he tells you no." Superman was currently pounding the alien demi-god through a brick wall.
"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard" he said disgustedly as he advanced on Darkseid yet again. "Always taking constant care not to break something. To break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment or someone could die. But you can take it can't you, big man? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and show you just how powerful I really am."
With that, he leapt at Darkseid, fist cocked. The punch broke windows for blocks. Approaching the hole in the wall, Wonder Woman and Batman watched, mouths agape, as the demi-god sailed high through the air like a doll tossed out a window. Through building after building, mile after mile, not seeming to lose any speed.
Then, Superman was there in front of the hurtling figure, waiting. When Darkseid was directly in front of him, the man of steel delivered a tremendous two-handed chop which sent his opponent hurtling down to the pavement. And through the pavement. One story down. Two. When the dust finally settled, the crater was almost three stories deep.
Superman flew down to continue his assault and his friends lost sight of him. They continued to stare off through the holes in the buildings for a moment.
"Good Lord, I'd had my suspicions, but..." was all the Batman could think to say before he collected himself.
"Merciful Minerva, I never--" was Diana’s echoing sentiment. She was still staring off in the distance.
"Still want Clark to cut loose in training?" he said with a smirk.
"No. No I think not. If I ever ask him again--"
"Slap you?" he teased?
"Or, you could just remind me."
"What's the difference?
"The difference is that one option will leave you with both hands unbroken. I'll let the world's greatest detective figure out which option that would be."
Both of them stopped for a moment, listening to their transmitters.
"Sounds like we have another assignment" he said.
"Yes, we do" she replied as she picked up Batman and headed skyward.
They flew from the scene in silence, both of them lost in their own thoughts.
