Different Worlds Part Fourteen

AN: This chapter is loosely based on events in War of Gods.

Different Worlds by Arcadia

Part Fourteen:

Revival

`Wonder Woman Dead'. That was the headline of the Smallville
Chronicle and all the newspapers all over the world. A picture of
the mourning Amazons and Superman standing over the remains of
Diana's uniform was featured with the article.

Jonathon Kent lowered his paper. He looked at his wife, Martha Kent,
as she stared out the kitchen window. She stared at her son in the
wheat field looking in the distance.

"Two days, Jonathon. He has been out there for two days. He hasn't
said much since he got here."

"He's mourning, Martha," Jonathon said.

"I know," Martha sighed. "But the world still needs him."

"Yeah," Jonathon agreed. He pushed his chair back and joined Martha
at the window. "The world needs him now more than ever."

Clark stood in the wheat field of his home staring at the wide space
of land but not focusing on anything. He replayed the moment over
and over again of Diana dying and him being trapped behind Circe's
power and not being able to save her. The look of complete agony on
Diana's dying face was something he would remember forever.

Clark tried to remember happier times of him and Diana soaring in
the skies together, spending time alone in his fortress. She was so
beautiful, her eyes so hopeful and she so honest.

*And I let her down.*

"Clark?" Clark didn't turn to acknowledge his father. "You know you
can't stay here forever."

"I know but I needed to be alone, away from Metropolis, the league."
Clark sighed as Jonathon stood beside him. "Diana had such faith in
humanity, Pa, and this is how we reward her: branding her and her
Sisters as criminals, hunting them like animals, condemning her
without all the evidence. Diana believed we could change, believed
that despite the evil, the horrors of humanity that we are good
people, we can do great things."

"She was an amazing woman," Pa said.

"Yeah. On our first date, I was like an eager schoolboy around the
prom queen, but the more time I spent with her, the more I got to
know her and I changed. She has this gift of making you feel
comfortable in your own skin around her. I no longer felt like
someone who could never be good enough for her. I felt like her
equal. I grew more confident with myself." He laughed. "I guess
that's strange coming from Superman."

Pa Kent shook his head. "No. Not strange at all. You're still a man,
and she was a beautiful woman. She could turn any man into putty
around her."

"Some people think of me with godlike powers," he said grimly
looking at his hands. "Powers that couldn't save her." He wiped his
eyes as they glistened with tears. "I love her, Pa and I never told
her."

Pa Kent rest a supporting hand on his son's back. "I think she knew."

Clark sighed. "Maybe. Diana believed in Earth and the good of the
people. It's about time this planet start earning the faith she had
in it." He suddenly looked more determined than before. "Diana's
death will not be in vain."

"I take it you're going after that witch who killed her?" Pa guessed.

Clark nodded. "Circe. Yes. I'm going to see this war to the end.
Circe's plans will never come to fruition."

"Be careful, son. If Circe can kill Wonder Woman, she can kill you."

****

On the main island of Themyscira, Iphthime and several Amazons
gathered around her. While the priestess' of the island were
preparing for Diana's funeral pyre, healers were on the island
tending to Hippolyta and others were forging and creating weapons,
Iphthime was ready to take the mantle and lead the Amazons to battle.

"Sisters, it's time we take up arms and fight! The Gods will not
help us and as always we Amazons must stand alone and defend our
homeland! Circe must pay for what she has done!"

"I understand your anger," Mnemosyne said, "But we do not stand a
chance alone against Circe. She has demonstrated how powerful she is
by killing Hermes and Diana in quick successions. Our only chance is
joining forces with the heroes in Patriarch's world."

"I agree," Pythia added. "If it wasn't for them, some of us wouldn't
be standing here today. This island would've been under attack by
fighter jets if they hadn't stopped them."

"You forget it's because of the influence of Patriarch's World we
are in the situation we are in," Iphthime said. A shadow fell over
the Amazons momentarily causing Iphthime to look up. Superman was
landing before them. "And here's one of them now," she sneered.

"Superman," Timandra spoke.

"Hello," he looked at the Amazons unsure of his welcome. "I know I
am not welcomed on the island but I had to see how you were doing."

"You're right. You are not welcomed and you should leave," Iphthime
angrily spoke. "You have done enough damage."

"Iphthime," Mnemosyne chided. She stepped to Superman. "Though some
of us do not welcome your presence, there are others who do."

"How is Queen Hippolyta?" Superman asked.

"Heracles and our healers are with her on the Isle of Healing. She
is still ill. Epione thinks by slaying Circe the spell our queen
will be lifted," Mnemosyne explained.

"We are arming ourselves for battle," Timandra added. "Only it's
quite clear we cannot battle alone."

"You have the allies of all the superheroes in the world," Superman
promised. "Before her death, Diana told me about being on New
Olympus. She talked about a war between the Gods. I don't know all
the answers or what Circe is planning but I'm sure the Gods battling
are apart of it and together we can figure out her plan and put a
stop to her once and for all."

****

As soon as Superman returned to Metropolis, he assembled all the
superheroes in the world to grassy plains just outside of
Metropolis. He stood before them clutching a copy of the Daily
Planet newspaper that read, `Wonder Woman is Dead.' The heroes
looked up to him as their leader, ready to take their orders from
him. For two days he turned away from them in his private mourning
of Diana. As he mourned, he eventually realized Diana wouldn't want
him to mourn her death. She would want him to fight, to save Earth
and that was what he intended to do.

"Wonder Woman is dead," he spoke to the silent crowd. "Those words
should weigh heavily on our hearts like Atlas upon Earth's
shoulders. Diana was born of a land of peace and compassion. She
could've have remained there forever but she didn't. Instead, she
came to our world, ready to share the secrets of peace, of paradise
to a world who preferred to live without it. Though Diana was a
skilled warrior, Diana preached peace above all else and like other
heroic peacemakers, she died for her beliefs. She died much too
soon. If you knew her as I did, you'd know how greatly this world
lost a treasure." Clark stopped for a moment to gather his emotions.
This wasn't the time to let his emotions loose and cry. This was a
time to be strong and stir the others to battle.

"We faced evil so much we've become jaded. Not Diana," he said with
a faint smile. "No. Despite everything, despite all the battles she
went through, she maintained her innocence, her hope in us all.
Unlike Diana, we let the ignorance and hate consume us. We let it
make us forget why we became superheroes in the first place. Diana
never forgot. Wonder Woman is dead but her dream will always live on!

"Diana died saving a world she loved, a world she believed in. She
will not have died in vain. In the name of our fallen ally, our
princess we will end this war once and for all!" Superman raised his
right hand in the air. "For Diana!"

All the superheroes in the world raised their right hand in
unity. "FOR DIANA!!"

After Superman's roaring speech, the heroes of Earth returned to
their cities to protect and stood on alert, ready to defend the
Earth. Superman was joined with Batman and Dr. Fate as they plot
their move against Circe. "We are at war and everyone needs to be on
a worldwide alert," Superman said.

"New Olympus is getting bigger," Dr. Fate informed Superman. "It's
covered Themyscira and it's spreading over to Europe."

"And into North America," Batman added. "It won't be long before
Metropolis and Gotham's skies are covered with New Olympus."

"From what I and the Amazons can piece together, Circe has caused
the Gods: Olympus, Roman and all the Pantheons to wage war on each
other."

"Why?" Batman asked.

"To recreate the world in their own image," Dr. Fate answered, "but
they are really going to destroy the Earth Goddess, Gaea and each
other just as Circe want."

"So she can recreate the world in *her* image," Batman guessed. "And
the Bana Amazons aligned with her so they could be the only Amazons
in Circe's new world, and if their deal with her also included a new
queen, it would explain why she kidnapped Queen Hippolyta."

Superman nodded. "Right."

"Now the Gods have brought the war to Earth. They can't see they are
pawns in Circe's plan," Dr. Fate said.

"I have to reason with them," Superman said. "If they continue to
spread their war on Earth, the people of Earth will be causalities
of that war. We lost Diana. We can`t lose anyone else."

"Actually, Diana might not be dead."

Superman and Batman were stunned at Dr. Fate's revelation. "Not
dead?" Superman questioned. "How could she be alive? I saw her die."

"Before this meeting, I was in contact with Spectre. He, Phantom
Stranger and Deadman are in Gaea's womb. Diana's soul is there.
Spectre said Circe's spell didn't work out as planned. It was
tampered with when she was creating the Hellfire spell. Diana's body
was destroyed but her soul is still very much alive. They will
ensure Circe doesn't discover that."

"If Diana's soul is there, there's a chance she can come back,"
Superman said hopeful.

"There is but we will need the Amazons aid."

"You have it," Superman said. "I talked to them before coming here.
They are preparing for battle but are opening their waters with us."

"Good. We have to hit Circe all at once if we are to win," Dr. Fate
said. "We will need a group on Themyscira, a group on New Olympus
and in Gotham."

"Gotham?" Batman questioned.

"Circe chose that city for a reason to set off the chain reaction of
the Amazons name being slandered, the attacks in Gotham and Queen
Hippolyta's disappearance. I think Gotham is where she will launch
her attack on the Earth."

"My city," Batman grimaced. "Great. I hope you are wrong about
this," Batman told Dr. Fate but he knew he was right.

"What about Black Adam and the Suicide Squad?" Superman asked. "I
haven't heard from them since they went to the Amazon Forest three
days ago and I didn't see him or Javelin in the crowd."

"This is why you shouldn't abandon everyone to deal with your
personal loss," Batman reminded Superman curtly. "We all have
problems but we deal with it and move on."

"Not everyone," Superman shot back at Batman.

Batman said nothing to counter that. "Javelin was killed by Circe
and Black Adam flew out of her fortress when she tried to take his
powers. He was lead to Egypt."

"Egypt? Why is he over there?"

"Helping to revive Captain Marvel," Batman answered. "When the Roman
Gods took over Captain Marvel to fight Wonder Woman, their conflict
began to neutralize the spell Shazam cast on Billy. Black Adam is
working with a Halciber Filius to revive Captain Marvel. In other
words, he's busy."

"Got it. What happened with the Bana then?"

"They sent the beastiamorphs on the Suicide Squad and split," Batman
said. "They must be relocating and keeping a low profile."

"They'll surface again but now is not the time to think about them,"
Superman mused. "We have to deal with Circe."

"Agreed," Dr. Fate said. "Circe is no doubt watching the battle of
the Gods over Olympus and Earth. The Mystics and I will create a
psychic fog over her mind. We will block her from seeing Themyscira
when Hippolyta reform Wonder Woman. A witch with Circe's power will
eventually see through the psychic fog so our time will be limited."

"Contact me when you create the fog. That's when I will fly to
Olympus and try to reason with the Gods. It could distract her and
buy us time."

Superman, Batman and Dr. Fate continued to choreograph their plans
before splitting up to readied themselves for the final battle.

****

On Themyscira's Isle of Healing, Epione continued to treat Hippolyta
with the medicines on their island. The healer was worried about
their queen wondering if the heroes of Earth will be able to stop
Circe. Power Girl and Hawkwoman were on the island to assist should
the battle come to Themyscira. Hawkwoman told Epione of the plan
Superman, Batman and Dr. Fate conjured up and a lot of it rest on
Hippolyta which was why she was doing everything possible to revive
the queen.

Suddenly, Hippolyta awakened. She looked around confused. The last
thing she remembered she was in a Gotham Hotel. The place around her
looked more like home.

"My Queen."

Hippolyta turned her head slightly and looked at Epione
groggily. "Epione? What happened? Am I on Themyscira?"

"Yes, My Queen," Epione assured her. "I must revive you so you can
play your part in Circe's defeat. You must return to the main island
before Diana's funeral pyre dies."

"Funeral pyre? Diana?" Hippolyta murmured puzzled.

Epione rest a hand on Hippolyta's forehead. "Shh! My queen. All will
be explained to you."

On the main island of Themyscira, Heracles lead Pythia, Timandra and
Iphthime all in battle armor to Dooms Doorway.

Pythia looked in the sky for a moment hearing the battle of New
Olympus above them. "Are you sure it is here?"

"I've held this island up for centuries. I know every corner. There
is an alternative entrance to New Olympus. If Superman and the
others can't stop the Gods from fighting or Circe, we will."
Heracles pushed aside the boulders blocking the entrance to the
doorway and led the Amazons inside.

In Gotham, Batman and Robin stood on a rooftop. They watched the
dark skies as New Olympus spread into the city. Heroes of all kind
including, Hawkman, and J'onn stood around the city waiting.

"Maybe Dr. Fate is wrong," Robin said.

"When has he been wrong?" Batman asked.

Robin grimaced. "You're right." Robin looked down the rooftops and
saw Gotham Cops on street corners with armored cars and dressed
ready to deal with riots. "I hope the police can handle them, too.
Even with the other league members, we're gonna be outnumbered."

Batman spotted something strange in the sky. He put on his
binoculars to get a better view. Through it, he saw beastiamorphs
from a distance coming into the city. "Robin!"

Robin looked up and the sky suddenly becomes cluttered with
beastiamorphs. "Looks like Fate was right as well."

"Damn! I was hoping he was wrong!" Batman said as four beastiamorphs
descended on them. The Dynamic Duo took out their weapons and
battled the onslaught of beastiamorphs.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fate alerted Superman the psychic fog over Circe was
cast. Superman lead the way as he, Starman and Guy Gardner flew to
New Olympus floating above Themyscira. The Roman and Olympian Gods
continued to battle each other fiercely. Superman flew to Jupiter
and Zeus fighting each other. He thought if he could reason with
each respective King of the Gods, the others would fall in line.

"Lord Zeus. Lord Jupiter. You must stop this fighting. You are being
deceived by Circe." Superman got in the middle of Jupiter and
Zeus. "Circe has tricked you into fighting each other to destroy the
Earth Goddess, Gaea."

Jupiter and Zeus stopped in their fighting to regard Superman. "I am
God Jupiter," his voice boomed. "No one, especially the witch Circe
can deceive me."

Zeus stared down at Superman. "I have watched thou with Diana."

Superman swallowed hard. He didn't like where this was going.

"Diana rejected my advances. She refused to lie with me and enjoy
the pleasures that only a God can give but Diana seems to welcome
thou attention, Superman. Why she will soon welcome you to lie with
her and reject me is nothing less than an insult to the King of the
Gods."

This was just great Superman thought. Here he was trying to convince
the Roman and Olympian Gods of Circe's plan and Zeus had to talk
about his relationship with Diana in front of the Gods and his
allies.

"You slept with Wonder Woman?" Guy Gardner asked.

"No, I haven't!" Superman nearly yelled at Guy. He turned his
attention to the Gods once more. "My relationship with Diana isn't
important," Superman argued. "You must stop this senseless fighting
or you and the Earth will die."

Zeus laughed boastfully. "I am a God! I cannot die, least of all by
a witch!" Zeus formed a bolt of electricity and threw it at
Superman. "Stand down, mortal or face my wrath!"

Superman dodged Zeus bolt. Zeus looked annoyed he didn't strike
Superman. "Thou move swift to avoid the blow of a God. I will not
make that mistake again."

"Way to go, Supes," Guy Gardner chided Superman. "Now the Gods are
going to fight *us*."

"It can't be helped. We have to stop them from fighting before they
kill us all."

High above New Olympus Circe floats in her throne watching the
battle of the Gods against each other with much delight. "Perfect.
Just perfect." She saw Superman take a bolt of energy from Zeus but
still remained strong while Zeus grew more irritated. "Stupid
Superman thought he could stop me by reasoning with the arrogant,
stupid Gods." Circe laughed. "He is as naïve and foolish as Diana."

Enjoying the battle over New Olympus, Circe was unaware of the
mystic fog over Themyscira the Mystics were creating as Epione and
Menalippe escorted Hippolyta to the beach.

Hippolyta aware of the plan kneeled on the beach with her items. She
place Diana's tiara on clay form beach. Then her uniform, with
Harmonia's talisman her boots and lasso. She began molding the clay
into the form of Diana. As she reform Diana, Hippolyta pray to the
Gods, to Gaea to restore Diana`s body as she did centuries before.

****

Back in the skies, Heracles, Pythia, Timandra and Iphthime finally
arrive on New Olympus. They saw Roman and Olympian Gods fighting
each other; Superman defending himself against Zeus while trying to
reason with them that Circe's the enemy and not him.

"What power," Pythia remarked at Superman battling Zeus. "He can
withstand the mighty bolt of Zeus."

"Do you still think it is wrong to align with Superman?" Timandra
asked Iphthime.

"His power is great and that power can be turned on us," Iphthime
said.

"Come. We are here to find Circe and deal with her," Heracles said
and led the group through Olympus in finding the witch.

While Starman and Guy Gardner fought off the mystical Gods, Superman
was about to hit Zeus with his heat vision when the skies darken
above Olympus. Circe looked up impressed at what everyone stopped
fighting to see: Ares and all the war Gods of the Pantheons.

"The War Gods declare this War is over!" Ares' voice boomed. "With
each blow we hasten our own destruction!"

Jupiter stared at his son Mars standing with Ares outrage. "Over?
Have you forgotten what the Greeks have done to our home?"

"I haven't but it has come to light that it wasn't the Greeks'
responsible but the witch Circe and another ambitious Goddess Eris
who freed the witch from her prison," Mars explained.

Circe snorted. "Can't depend on Bana Amazons and I can't depend on
Goddesses." She smiled. "Oh, well. I still have an ace up my
sleeve." She listened as Ares continued his argument.

"We thrive on war," Ares said, "but wouldn't we call for peace if
there was an alternative to the fighting?"

"They speak the truth," Hera said. "Lay down your weapons." She
decreed to the Gods. "The fighting is over."

Heracles and the Amazons watch the Gods lay down their weapons. He
spot Circe above them, smiling. "There's the traitorous, Witch!"

"It's over but Circe is still smiling like she has won. Why?" Pythia
asked.

Circe merely laughed above them, "Foolish Gods!" She stared at
Hades. "This war is far from over!"

Hades suddenly fell to his knees as he cried in pain. Circe cackled
wickedly. "Payback's a bitch, isn't it Hades!"

"Hades, what's the matter?" Hera asked. "What is that witch doing to
you?"

Hades doubled over in pain. "It's Hectate!" he cried. "My spurned
lover is using Circe to finally exact her vengeance on me. While
battling Pluto, I've been distracted and Hectate is using it to her
advantage. She is taking what she thinks is hers."

Realization dawned on Hera. "You don't mean the Underworld, do you?"

At that moment in the River Styx, skeletal hands of the dead: Gods,
superheroes and Amazons rise from the waters. With their skeletal
remains dressed in armor, they entered the entrance Heracles and the
Amazons entered earlier to get to New Olympus.

Not of their own will they began battling the Gods, superheroes,
Heracles and the Amazons, resuming the war.

On Themyscira, hordes of demons escape from Doom's Doorway. Power
Girl, Hawkwoman and the Amazons began their fight as well.

Meanwhile, Circe cackled at the perfection of the war as it
continued to spread over the Earth. However, there was one thing
that was bothering her. Circe saw the deceased Hellene fighting her
Sisters as well as dead Bana Amazons but there was one Amazon
missing. Where was Diana? She should be among the dead fighting.
After all, Circe killed her.

On a hunch, Circe viewed Themyscira but something was clouding her
vision. This made Circe not only suspicious but angry. She cursed
herself for being too caught up on what was going on New Olympus to
not see deception around her. Summoning her powers, Circe focused
and worked through the fog clouding her view.

Circe saw Themyscira and on the beach was Hippolyta, molding Diana's
body on the beach. "NO!" Circe screamed. "Damn them!" She used her
powers and created a huge Hellfire bolt. "This time I will blow the
whole damn island! No one will survive!" She threw the energy in
Themyscira's direction. Ground zero: Hippolyta!

The giant Hellfire bolt passed the fighting Gods, heroes and Amazons
who was too busy battling to see where it was going. Everyone,
except Superman.
Superman witnessed the Hellfire energy firing towards
Themyscira. "NO!" His one chance to save Diana, save Themyscira and
finally put an end to this war rested on him and he wasn't going to
fail this time. Superman flew towards Themyscira fast, faster than
the deadly energy and put himself between Themyscira and the
Hellfire bolt.

The Hellfire blast hit Superman dead on. Superman caught it as if
trying to push it back on Circe but it continued to push him,
eventually swallowing him. Superman screamed as the Hellfire bolt
traveled all over his body. Only the physical strength of his body
along with his strong will to protect Themyscira allowed him to take
the pain.

Circe watched outrage as the Hellfire lessen in size thanks to
Superman. "Dammit! Kill him!"

Superman continued to take the Hellfire until it completely
diminish. Drained of his strength, Superman plowed into the beach.
He was knocked unconscious and it was up to the others to finish the
battle.

"I hope he's dead this time!" Circe snarled. As she looked at
Superman on the beach not far away she saw Hippolyta was on the
beach but clay form of Diana was not. "No," she said in denial. "She
can't be!"

Suddenly Circe felt herself being pulled from Olympus once more. She
struggled being taken away and found herself in the Tomb of
Cronus. "Damn those Gods! Do They really think They can stop me by
trapping me here?"

"Maybe They can't but I will."

Circe turned to see Wonder Woman stepping out of the
shadows. "You're alive. No! Dammit!" Circe screamed in
frustration. "You're dead! I killed you!"

"Apparently not. With all your powers, you cannot kill one solitary
Amazon. Perhaps Hectate chosen the wrong person to have her soul and
it is I who deserves her birthright," she taunted Circe.

Furious, Circe screamed. "Then have it you arrogant fool!" She blast
a giant ball of energy at her. "I'll kill you just as I have killed
your alien lover!"

"Kal?" Distracted, Diana was hit with the blast and it knocked her
back. Diana gritted her teeth as pain wracked her new body. She had
to concentrate on the battle and not let Circe distract her.

Circe threw another blast of energy at Diana, laughing as she
said, "Yes. That pathetic alien thought he could stop me. No one
can! Certainly not you!"

This time the Amazon Princess was ready for her. She pulled out
Harmonia's talisman and absorbed the energy Circe was throwing at
her.

Circe grew more frustrated as her power continued to be absorbed by
the talisman. "Damn you!" She screamed and threw more power at
Diana. "I killed a God here! You don't stand a chance!"

As Circe continued to blast Diana with more of her power, the
talisman she held kept absorbing her power. "You are out powered,
Circe. Can you not see it?" Diana asked. "All you are doing is
wasting Hectate's power. Even Hectate knows you are no longer
usable. Haven't you wondered why the tomb of Cronus was decreed your
final resting place? " Diana asked but it was clear Circe didn't
know the answer. "The Gods you sought to destroy sent you here and
are channeling their powers to Cronus now to pull his sinful
grandchild back into his fold. Since you hold Hectate's soul, I'm
sure you can figure the rest out."

On New Olympus, the dead army returned to dust. In Gotham, the
beastiamorphs returned to their human form. On Themyscira, the
demons were sent back to Doom's Doorway.

In Cronus' tomb, Circe's body began to wither and return to its dust
form. "No! What's happening to me?"

"Your body only lived because it carried Hectate's soul," Diana told
her. "Without it, you are returning to dust."

Circe released one painful, final cry as her body turned to dust.
Hectate's soul came out of the pile of dust. The old evil witch
advanced on Diana. "Your soul is mine!"

Diana pulled out her lasso and wrapped Hectate in it, purging the
deceptive witch once and for all. "Lord Cronus! Hectate is yours!
Take her!"

Hectate screams in her futile attempt to break out of the lasso of
truth. A colossal explosive light fills the tomb as Cronus finally
takes Hectate soul. Now that the evil of Circe and Hectate were
finally gone forever, Diana breathed a sign of relief.

With her mission completed, Diana is transported back to
Themyscira's beach. Diana is joined with her mother and Sisters.
They all share hugs with Diana, joyful their princess is alive. As
much as Diana was happy to see her family, she wanted to know where
Superman was.

"It's good to see you all but where is Kal?" Diana asked. "Circe
said she killed him."

Menalippe pointed to the edge of the beach. "Superman was struck
with Circe's Hellfire blast directly. He took the blast completely.
He saved us all. I don't think he's dead. Just unconscious."

Diana left her mother's side and ran to the beach where Superman
laid. Diana knelt beside him and removed her helmet. She was
relieved to see his chest rise and fall. He was vulnerable to magic
and yet he sacrificed himself for Themyscira, for the world, almost
at the cost of his own life.

Diana kissed Superman, hoping that would wake him. Superman laid on
the beach in a deep sleep until he felt something on his lips.
Someone was kissing him. Out of instinct he kissed back and by the
kiss he knew it was Diana.

Superman opened his eyes to see Diana smiling down at him. "Welcome
back," she told him.

"I should be saying that to you," Superman said as he sat up. He
winced as his body had not fully recovered from the Hellfire bolt.

"Are you all right?" Diana asked.

"Again, I should be saying that to you," Superman said. He ran a
hand through her hair, touching her face. "You're really alive. I
thought I lost you. Is it over? Is Circe defeated?"

Diana gestured for Superman to look upward. He saw New Olympus
disappearing from the skies. "Circe will not be coming back and the
War of the Gods is over," Diana said. "The Earth is finally safe."

"Good. Because I had enough of magic for a very long time."

"Does that include someone who came to life by magic?" Diana asked
slyly.

"You," he smiled at Diana. "I can never have enough of."

"Really?" Diana asked, grinning as she moved closer to him.

"Really," Superman said and closed the space between them with a
kiss.
