Worlds Finest Our Worlds at War #1 (October 2001) Superman arrives at the Batcave to ask Batman to attend the many funerals and memorials of the fallen. Batman refuses. He tells Superman he has his own priorities (still having to search for the Young Justice members who are still missing post the war). As they argue, Wonder Woman teleports in, and reminds them that people mourn in their own way and they need to respect that in each other. Superman and Wonder Woman leave to join the JLA to remember Aquaman who is still missing in action; they go to the JSA headquarters for the memorial for Hippolyta and then go to pay their respects to Maxima who also fell in the war. Later in the day they arrive in Smallville to pay their respects to Sharon Vance, Strange Visitor, and meet her angry boyfriend, the only person who showed up. He accuses both Kal and Diana of not knowing how he felt, unaware both suffered losses themselves. He storms off leaving Superman to wonder if there is any hope left to hold on to. Wonder Woman tells Superman that he has done enough and to go to Lois. Superman recalls he has to attend Sam Lane's funeral at sunset and he wonders to himself how could he have forgotten. He leaves Wonder Woman asking if she will be okay and she insists she will be fine.
